Construction Superintendent

Location: Alberta, British Columbia

Reports To: Project Manager / Director of Construction

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on construction projects from mobilization through completion. The Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and trades, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring work is completed efficiently and in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader who communicates effectively, takes ownership of project outcomes, and can build strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and supervise daily construction activities on site.
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, deliveries, and site logistics.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation.
- Ensure construction work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential issues before they impact the project.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, deficiencies, and project closeout activities.
- Track progress and communicate schedule, manpower, material, and site issues to the project management team.
- Maintain accurate daily site reports, records, and documentation.




- Enforce company safety policies and applicable occupational health and safety requirements.
- Lead site meetings and coordinate activities between multiple trades.
- Assist with resolving construction issues, RFIs, change orders, and field coordination matters.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and skilled job site.
- Support project turnover and ensure deficiencies are addressed promptly.
- Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to subcontractors and site personnel.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in construction supervision or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing industrial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, and site coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret structural, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction safety requirements and best practices.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Relevant trade certification, construction management education, or equivalent experience is an asset.

Pay: $70.00-$75.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
