Job Summary
We are seeking two motivated and skilled Skid Steer Operators to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate skid steer loaders to assist with various construction tasks, ensuring efficient project progress while maintaining safety standards. Your mechanical knowledge and heavy equipment operation expertise will be vital in supporting our diverse projects.
The idea candidate has 3+ years of skid steer experience bulking, moving spoils, heavy equipment and tools using various attachments. He/she also has experience driving one tonne+ trucks and attaching and pulling trailers (gooseneck and bumper pulls) up to 40 feet. They have their G endorsement for trailer pulling and are familiar with securing loads for transport.
Compensation & Benefits
- $25.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience
- Time and a half after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week
- 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on all regular hours
- $2.00 per hour out of town premium
- $2.00 per hour night shift premium
- $2.00 per hour incentive after 30 days if you join our drug and alcohol-free program

Duties
- Operate skid steer loaders safely and efficiently across multiple job sites to move materials, clear debris, and prepare work areas
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using loader operation skills
- Support excavation activities by coordinating with excavator operators and other heavy equipment operators
- Conduct routine inspections of the skid steer to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
- Follow all safety protocols and site-specific procedures during equipment operation
- Collaborate with team members to execute construction tasks such as paving, backhoe work, or horizontal drilling as needed
- Maintain accurate records of equipment use and daily operations
Requirements
- Proven experience operating skid steer loaders in a construction environment
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment including Caterpillar models and attachments such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, graders, and horizontal drilling machinery
- Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred
- Ability to operate related machinery such as dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, backhoes, and pavers is a plus
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and regulations
- Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
- Prior experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety and efficiency
