Gridwise Engineering is a growing power engineering consultancy, located in Metrotown, Burnaby, BC delivering engineering services to power utility, renewable and industrial clients in Canada and USA.

We are currently looking for a Substation Electrical Drafter focusing on CAD and technical design support to our substation electrical design team. If you are self-driven and have a keen interest in electrical design and drafting, this is the opportunity for you. Our team of engineers are known in the industry in BC and beyond for their considerable knowledge.

Job Requirements:

- Develop detailed 2D models for substation physical layouts utilizing AutoCAD.
- Prepare substation electrical drawings such as single line diagrams, general arrangement layouts, elevation and cross-section views, control building layouts, grounding details, cable trench layouts and details, conduit routing, schematics and other related drawings using AutoCAD.
- Provide technical design support on substation projects such as preparing bill of materials or quantity take-offs.

Required Qualifications:

- Technical school degree or equivalent, and AutoCAD certification.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of work experience developing substation CAD drawings from engineering designs and markups.




- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience in using Substation Design Suite (SDS) and/or Advanced AutoCAD Design will be a huge asset.
- Past work experience with electrical power utilities or similar drafting experience with engineering consultants will be preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment and on their own initiative as required.
