Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team. In this role, you will provide direct 1:1 behaviour support, rooted in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), to children and adolescents under the supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA). Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 direct ABA services to children, youth, and adolescents.
- Implement individualized skill acquisition and behaviour reduction programs written by the RBA.
- Support clients in skill development across various domains (e.g., social, communication, emotional regulation, daily living skills).
- Maintain the safety, physical well-being, and dignity of clients at all times.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the supervising RBA regarding client updates and clinical concerns.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- In-Home Therapy: Conduct 1:1 ABA therapy sessions directly within clients' homes.
- Travel reliably between client homes within designated service areas.
- Client Pairing & Engagement: Build strong rapport and pair with clients using creative, play-based methods tailored to each individual's unique preferences.
- Interactive Sessions: Keep therapy sessions engaging, motivating, and fun while working toward clinical targets.
- Independent Execution: Independently run structured programs and routines developed by the supervising RBA.
- Community Outings: Accompany and support clients on community outings to work on community-focused goals (e.g., social interactions, safety, purchasing).
- Data & Documentation:
Consistently collect real-time data and write comprehensive session progress notes.
Requirements
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable personal transportation.
- $2 million auto liability insurance.
- Experience supporting vulnerable populations.
- Direct experience working with children in clinical or educational settings, displaying high levels of patience and empathy.
- Competence in standard data collection methods for tracking client progress and treatment effectiveness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with supervisors, team members, clients, and families.
- Availability during peak therapy hours (e.g., weekday afternoons and early evenings).
- Physical ability to active engage with children on the floor, lift up to 30 lbs, and respond quickly to safety concerns.
- Understanding of professional boundaries and mandatory reporting obligations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience specifically supporting children, youth, and adolescents with diverse needs.
- Previous knowledge or practical exposure to the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, Behavioural Science, Child and Youth Care, or Special Education).
- Formal training and certification in crisis intervention (e.g., NVCI/CPI, Safe Management); training may be provided as needed.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 – 20.0 per week
