At Urban Solar, your work directly shapes public infrastructure at thousands of bus stops across North America. Our systems power safer bus stops, deliver real-time passenger information, and operate reliably in tough urban environments.
You’ll join a high-performance team that values clarity, ownership, and execution. We move quickly, think strategically, and hold ourselves to a high standard.
The Role
We're looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to keep our day-to-day supply chain running smoothly.
We build our products through a network of contract manufacturers across Canada and the U.S., along with our own production facility in Bellingham, WA. You'll make sure materials are planned, ordered, and tracked across all of those sites, and that our ERP reflects what's actually happening on the ground.
This is a hands-on role. You'll work closely with our procurement and logistics team members, supporting purchasing and forecasting while owning inventory accuracy and our ERP workflows. We recently moved to Sage Intacct, so there's real opportunity to help improve how we work as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing and forecasting support
- Support purchasing by preparing RFQs, issuing and updating POs, and following up with suppliers on pricing, lead times, and delivery dates
- Forecast material requirements based on the sales pipeline, open orders, and production plans
- Flag shortages, late deliveries, and supply risks early so the team can act
- Pull together material costs to support COGS estimates for current and updated products
Inventory and contract manufacturers
- Maintain accurate inventory across our contract manufacturers, the Bellingham facility, and our Victoria office
- Reconcile inventory counts from contract manufacturers against ERP records
- Track consigned and customer-supplied material sent to contract manufacturers
- Keep open order and backlog trackers current
ERP and systems
- Be the day-to-day expert on the ERP (Sage Intacct) for purchasing, receiving, inventory, and order fulfillment
- Receive inventory, maintain item and supplier records, and keep workflows running cleanly
- Document processes and help teammates use the system correctly
- Work with Finance to resolve PO, receipt, and invoice discrepancies (three-way match)
- Build reports that give the team better visibility into orders, inventory, and supplier performance
Cross-functional
- Join weekly order and production check-ins with Operations, Engineering, and Sales
- Support Engineering with part information, supplier questions, and new product releases
Key Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience (Projected range of $65,000-$85,000)
- Annual profit-sharing bonuses
- Three weeks annual vacation to start
- Comprehensive medical and dental benefits
- Bi-weekly Flex Fridays
- $500 CAD annual health and fitness credit
- $1,000 CAD annual education credit
- Public transit/active commuting reimbursement
- High-quality snacks, coffee, and teas
- Team building events and meals
Location
This role will be in-person at our office located in Victoria, BC.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll be at the centre of our daily supply chain activity. You'll be the person who knows where our materials are, what's coming in, what we'll need next, and whether the ERP matches reality.
You'll be accountable for inventory accuracy,
clean ERP data, and making sure purchasing and forecasting have the information they need to keep production on schedule.
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, inventory control, or materials planning
- Degree or diploma in supply chain management, operations, business, or a related discipline
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, including purchasing, receiving, and inventory modules
- Experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and attention to detail
- Comfort juggling many moving pieces and following through without being chased
Skills That Make You Stand Out
- Experience with international sourcing (Asia, North America, Europe)
- Familiarity with cross-border logistics (Canada/U.S.)
- Strong financial literacy and cost analysis skills
- Experience using AI tools to improve forecasting, procurement analysis, or process documentation
- Experience supporting scaling operations
- Experience improving or implementing procurement systems
