Job Type: Casual / Supply

Schedule: Monday to Friday, variable shifts between 6:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Hours: Based on centre needs; hours are not guaranteed

Glen Abbey Child Care & Montessori is seeking a dependable, caring, flexible, and hardworking Casual Supply Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to support our licensed child care programs.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working with children between 15 months and 12 years of age and willing to assist in different classrooms and areas of the centre as needed.

Responsibilities

- Provide active supervision of children indoors and outdoors
- Support children between 15 months and 12 years of age
- Assist educators with daily routines, transitions, meals, rest periods, and programming
- Perform diapering and toileting duties
- Support children with hygiene and self-help routines
- Assist with classroom set-up and clean-up
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and sanitize classrooms and other areas
- Clean and sanitize washrooms
- Take out garbage and recycling
- Assist in the kitchen when required, including dishwashing and general kitchen clean-up
- Safely use workplace cleaning products such as floor cleaners, disinfectants, and diluted bleach solutions
- Follow WHMIS and centre health and safety procedures
- Move between classrooms and age groups depending on operational needs
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, and coworkers
- Work cooperatively as part of a team
- Follow all centre policies and applicable Ministry of Education requirements

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Bend, kneel, squat, sit on the floor, stand,



and walk for extended periods
- Participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing duties
- Work safely with standard cleaning and disinfecting products used in a child care setting

Required Qualifications & Documentation
- Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- TB test completed within the last 6 months
- Required immunizations must be up to date
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Reliable, punctual, flexible, and able to work as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) preferred
- ECA diploma/certificate or related education
- Previous experience in a licensed child care setting
- Valid Food Handler Certificate
- Experience working with multiple age groups

Applicants should understand that this is a casual supply position. Shift length, start and end times, classroom assignment, and weekly hours may vary depending on the operational needs of the centre.

Pay: $19.60-$25.86 per hour
