Job Overview
Hell Bay Brewing is looking for a full-time Taproom & Operations Lead to join our team in Liverpool.
This is primarily a front-of-house taproom position, but we're looking for someone who enjoys variety and is willing to jump in wherever needed. In addition to looking after the taproom and our customers, you'll help keep beer and merchandise organized, coordinate inventory between Hell Bay and Tanner & Co. Brewing, assist with events and occasionally lend a hand with canning, packaging and other brewery work.
You'll often be the primary person on site during taproom hours and special events, so we're looking for someone dependable, comfortable working independently and able to make positive decisions when needed.
What you'll be doing
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable service in the Hell Bay taproom
- Opening and closing the taproom and handling daily cash/POS procedures
- Keeping the taproom, retail area and beer fridges stocked, clean and organized
- Monitoring packaged beer and keg inventory and identifying when stock needs to be replenished
- Coordinating beer and inventory transfers between Hell Bay and Tanner & Co. Brewing
- Receiving and organizing incoming product and supplies
- Helping coordinate and run taproom events, live music and other special events
- Acting as the on-site lead during shifts when ownership is not present
- Assisting with canning, labelling, packaging and other brewery tasks as needed
- Helping maintain an organized and welcoming taproom and brewery
- Working with our brewer, sales team and the rest of the Tanner & Co./Hell Bay team as needed
What we're looking for We're less concerned about a particular job title on your resume than finding someone who is reliable,
personable and comfortable taking responsibility for the taproom.
The right person will
- Have strong customer service and communication skills
- Be comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for a shift
- Be organized and able to keep track of inventory and day-to-day tasks
- Be comfortable working in both a customer-facing taproom and a production brewery environment
- Be willing to pitch in with physical tasks such as moving cases, kegs and supplies
- Be available for a mix of daytime, evening and weekend shifts
- Have an interest in craft beer and be willing to learn about the beers we produce
- Be comfortable using basic computer, email and POS systems
Previous taproom, bar, restaurant, retail or brewery experience is an asset, but isn't necessarily required for the right person. Hours & compensation
This is a full-time position averaging approximately 35–40 hours per week. The schedule will include a mix of daytime and evening shifts, along with some weekend work and special events.
Compensation is $20–$24 per hour, depending on experience, plus gratuities earned
About Hell Bay
Hell Bay Brewing has been part of Liverpool's craft beer community for years and is now entering a new chapter as part of Tanner & Co. Brewing.
We're a small team, which means this isn't a job where you'll be doing exactly the same thing every day. Some days will be focused on customers and the taproom, while others might include receiving beer, organizing inventory, setting up an event or helping the brewery team get cans out the door.
If you're someone who likes working with people, enjoys a hands-on environment and doesn't mind jumping between different tasks, we'd like to hear from you.
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
