TITLE: Therapy Aide STATUS: 0.8 FTE – Permanent Part time

POSITION SUMMARY

The Therapy Aide will perform duties and tasks related to enhancing the quality of life for residents. The duties and tasks are directly related to the implementation of therapeutic interventions, both individually and in group programming. The Therapy Aide works under the supervision of the Director, Clinical Support and Accommodation

Services. This requires collaborative engagement with staff, residents, and families, to support positive relationships and enhance the quality of care and services provided.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School Diploma
- Health Care Aide Certification required, current registration with Alberta’s Health Care Aide Directory
- Emergency First Aid required

REQUIREMENTS:

- Plans, coordinates and facilitates a variety of individual and/or group programs according to the Monthly

Activity Calendar under the supervision of the Recreation Therapist

- Supervise participants while at the Crossroads Day program and attend to personal care needs as required




- Encourages residents to make choices and to maintain or enhance their level of independence
- Assess and adapt programming to meet the diverse needs and preferences of clients
- Maintain daily charting and Daily Care Records as required
- Porters’ residents within and outside of facility
- Supports the work of volunteers, recognizing and encouraging volunteerism as a resource to maintain the

residents’ ability to engage in active and involved community

SHIFT INFORMATION

Mandatory LAPP membership for permanent Part-time and Full time employees that work a 0.7 FTE or greater (see policy FS 03-04)

Hours per shift: 6.75 & 7.75 Shift pattern: Days Shifts per Cycle:

PAY RANGE: As per terms and conditions
