Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and vigilant Traffic Control Person to ensure safety and smooth flow of traffic at construction sites, roadwork zones, and other designated areas. In this role, you will be responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting construction teams to create a secure working environment. Your energetic presence will help minimize hazards, prevent accidents, and facilitate efficient operations on-site.

Responsibilities
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic using hand signals, signs, or flagging devices to ensure safe passage through construction zones or work sites
- Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, and warning signs in accordance with safety standards and project requirements
- Monitor work zones continuously to identify potential hazards or unsafe behaviors and take corrective actions promptly
- Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, pedestrians, and supervisors to coordinate movements and maintain safety protocols
- Assist in the installation of temporary traffic control infrastructure, including flagging stations and detour routes
- Conduct routine inspections of traffic control devices to ensure proper functioning and placement throughout the shift
- Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and company policies diligently to uphold a secure work environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience in traffic control, construction, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Robust understanding of construction site safety practices and traffic control standards
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey instructions to drivers and team members
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, walk long distances, and perform manual tasks as needed
- Valid certification in traffic control flagging or the ability to obtain it upon hire (training provided)
- Construction experience or familiarity with heavy equipment operation is advantageous but not required
