Rate of Pay: $26.28 - $29.10/hour (CUPE, Band B)

Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and team-oriented Ward Aide to join our Urgent Care Centre team at the Hotel Dieu Hospital site. As a Ward Aide, you play an important role in creating a positive patient experience by supporting the clinical team and helping ensure the unit operates efficiently. Working alongside nurses, physicians, clerical staff, and other healthcare professionals, you will contribute to a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and families.

What You'll Do
As a Ward Aide, you will:
- Assist with patient transportation throughout the department
- Prepare and maintain treatment and examination rooms between patients
- Ensure patient care areas are clean, organized, stocked, and ready for use
- Monitor and maintain supplies, linen inventories, and equipment levels
- Support patient flow by prioritizing requests and coordinating with the healthcare team
- Respond appropriately during emergency situations, including Code Blue, Code White, and Code Red events
- Troubleshoot and resolve routine operational issues while escalating concerns as required
- Receive and direct telephone calls and inquiries from patients, visitors, and staff
- Promote a welcoming and professional environment for patients, families, and colleagues
- Contribute positively to a collaborative and patient-centered team culture

Required Qualifications
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma (Grade 12)
- Minimum one (1) year of related work experience
- Demonstrated ability to organize work and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check
- Proven good attendance and reliability
