ArchStone Homes is looking for an experienced Working Foreman / Lead Carpenter to join our growing residential construction team in the Kemptville / North Grenville area.

This is a hands-on leadership position. You will lead the day-to-day construction of our custom and semi-custom homes while continuing to work with the tools alongside a small carpentry crew.

Responsibilities

- Lead and work alongside a small crew of carpenters
- Read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
- Perform residential framing and general carpentry
- Coordinate daily work and subcontractors on site
- Maintain construction quality and schedule
- Identify and resolve construction issues
- Coordinate inspections and deficiencies
- Ensure work follows the Ontario Building Code and safety requirements
- Organize materials and maintain a clean, safe job site
- Communicate progress, issues and material requirements to the owner
- Train and mentor less-experienced crew members
- Help ensure homes are built to ArchStone's quality standards

What we're looking for
- 5+ years of residential construction experience
- Robust carpentry and framing skills




- Previous experience leading a crew or acting as a lead carpenter/foreman
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Good understanding of residential construction and the Ontario Building Code
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the job
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Safety-conscious and professional

Carpenter trade certification, Working at Heights, WHMIS and first-aid training are assets.
