We are currently looking for a Welder/Fitter to join Central Equipment Sales and Service specializing in commercial vehicle and equipment repairs/modification.
The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, fitting, and repair work on commercial vehicles, trailers, equipment, and related components. This position supports the maintenance and repair operations of the shop by ensuring all fabrication and welding work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. The Welder/Fitter works closely with technicians, mechanics, and shop supervisors to maintain the structural integrity and operational reliability of company equipment.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding, fabricating, repairing, and modifying a variety of truck, trailer, and heavy equipment components. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely and independently in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding as required.
- Fabricate, repair, and modify truck, trailer, and equipment components.
- Read and interpret drawings, measurements, and welding specifications.
- Use cutting, grinding, drilling, and other fabrication equipment.
- Measure, fit, align, and assemble metal components.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
- Repair damaged or worn components and assist with equipment modifications.
- Operate shop tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Complete work orders and document repairs as required.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Work cooperatively with mechanics, technicians, and other shop personnel.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Welder/Fabricator, preferably in a truck, trailer, heavy equipment, or industrial environment.
- Welding experience with MIG; TIG and stick welding considered an asset.
- Ability to read measurements, drawings, and basic fabrication plans.
- Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to safely operate grinders, cutting equipment, drills, saws, and other shop equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license considered an asset.
- Welding certification considered an asset.

Pay: $26.00-$29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45.0 per week
