You will report to the Assistant Vice-President and Senior Counsel, Litigation, becoming a crucial member of the Canadian Litigation and Employment group. Your expertise will guide internal business partners, ensuring timely and effective legal representation. In this role, you will also manage a diverse portfolio of litigation matters, emphasizing collaboration with external counsel and business leaders.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide expert legal advice on litigation matters - Manage long-term disability litigation cases - Draft pleadings, briefs,
and mediation materials - Represent the company in court and mediation settings - Mentor junior legal team members
Requirements: - Law degree and bar membership in Ontario or Manitoba - Minimum of 8 years of relevant litigation experience - Strong skills in advocacy and dispute resolution - Experience with life and health insurance litigation - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
