Our client in the aviation fuel industry is seeking a
Terminal & Control Center Operator
to join their team. In this safety-critical role, you will be part of a crucial team responsible for the safe operation of pipeline and terminal facilities, ensuring the reliable delivery of fuel to airline clients. The successful candidate will monitor and control operations through SCADA and other systems, coordinate fuel movements, respond to alarms and abnormal operating conditions, maintain accurate operational records, and work closely with field personnel, customers, suppliers, and the broader operations team.
This position operates on a modified
DuPont rotating schedule , including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. While previous experience in pipeline operations, terminals, refineries, aviation fuel facilities, utilities, industrial process plants, or control room environments is considered an asset, candidates from other industries with strong aptitude, transferable skills, and a demonstrated ability to learn complex operational processes are encouraged to apply.

Pay Range:
$70,000 to $80,000 per year during training and certification. Upon successful completion of required certifications, salary increases to $85,000 to $90,000 per year.
What's the Job?
Operational control and real-time monitoring of pipeline and terminal facilities via a SCADA control system. Utilize leak detection systems to monitor segment integrity and respond appropriately to alarms and violations. Day-to-day site activities including performing site rounds, minor maintenance activities, equipment checks, and housekeeping. Review product quality information and perform basic sampling and laboratory testing as required to ensure the ongoing delivery of quality jet fuel. Maintain accurate electronic shift records and operational logs using approved digital forms and systems, ensuring all pertinent activities, incidents, and follow-up actions are documented and effectively communicated during shift handovers. Read, understand, interpret, and consistently follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and regulatory requirements to ensure all work is performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with established processes. Effectively communicate operational information through electronic forms, digital chat platforms, group messaging systems, telephone conversations, and email correspondence to ensure clear coordination and timely issue resolution. Be the first point of contact for site visitors and contractors, providing site and safety orientations. Where applicable, complete work permits and job hazard assessments. Triage incoming calls from internal and external stakeholders. Work closely with management, supervisory, maintenance, and field personnel to address operational issues and maintain safe, efficient operations. Promptly dispatch appropriate responses to alarms, call-in inquiries, and emergency incidents. Learn, interpret, and execute initial emergency response procedures,
taking prompt and appropriate action during incidents while remaining calm and effective under pressure. Maintain appropriate safety and operational qualifications through ongoing training and development. Ensure ongoing readiness to respond in emergency situations through active participation in regular training exercises. Deliver on the operational aspects of the Emergency Management Program, including participation in emergency response planning and exercises. Support operational excellence through participation in operational document reviews, updates, and continuous improvement initiatives. Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to contribute ideas, feedback, and process enhancements. 2-3 years of previous experience in an operations, manufacturing, production, industrial, utility, terminal, refinery, aviation fuel, or process environment is considered an asset; candidates from other industries will also be considered. High school diploma, general education diploma, or equivalent. Trades, technical, and technologist accreditations are considered an asset. Prior experience with remote operations or industrial control systems is an asset. Ability to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol screening and background checks, as this is a Safety Sensitive Position.
