Training / Communication Specialist – Role OverviewPay Rate: $50–$70/hourContract Duration: Up to 12 months, with potential extensionWork ArrangementStandard hours: 8:15 AM – 4:30 PMPrimarily remote with occasional in-office attendance in Alberta as requiredRemote work must be performed within CanadaOverviewThe Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining learning materials that support the effective use of a complex digital system used for regulatory and business processes.This role focuses on identifying user performance gaps, translating system functionality and business requirements into practical training resources, and supporting the delivery of structured virtual training sessions to ensure consistent and confident system use across end users.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain clear, user-friendly training materials such as guides, job aids, presentations, and scenario-based learning content.Work closely with subject matter experts and technical stakeholders to ensure training content accurately reflects system functionality and business workflows.Identify gaps in user knowledge or performance using feedback, observation, and data, and recommend targeted training solutions.Support the design and development of virtual training sessions, including lesson plans, slide decks, exercises, and supporting documentation.Assist in facilitating virtual training sessions and provide post-training support and follow-up.Continuously improve training materials based on user feedback, system updates, and evolving business needs.Organize and maintain training documentation in centralized repositories to ensure accuracy, accessibility,
and version control.Align training content with broader organizational training standards and frameworks.Equipment RequirementsContractor must provide their own laptop and workstation setupMust support Azure Virtual Desktop (Windows preferred)Remote access tools will be installed on the contractor’s deviceContractor is responsible for office setup and suppliesSystem access and credentials will be providedRequired QualificationsEducationDegree or diploma in a relevant field combined with training experienceExperience5+ years developing training materials, technical documentation, or system-based learning content5+ years delivering virtual training sessions (e.G., MS Teams or similar platforms)5+ years managing multiple priorities in quick-paced environmentsPreferred Qualifications3+ years developing presentations and communications for diverse stakeholders3+ years creating structured training and documentation materials3+ years supporting change management initiatives3+ years documenting workflows, requirements, and business processes3+ years working with leadership and stakeholder groups3+ years using feedback or analytics to improve training effectivenessIf you meet the qualifications, please feel free to send your resume and cover letter to
