Lead health economic analysis with the Department of Health and Wellness in Halifax. This temporary role focuses on researching policies and developing methodologies to improve healthcare sustainability in Nova Scotia.
As a Health Economist, you will report to the Data Scientist and support analytical initiatives relevant to health economic policies. Key responsibilities include conducting complex economic studies, producing health forecasts, and translating findings into actionable insights for stakeholders. Your expertise will influence strategic planning in the healthcare system and you will foster productive relationships across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct complex economic studies for healthcare planning
• Produce actionable health economic forecasts for management
• Translate complex analyses into understandable reports
• Initiate data analysis to uncover hidden insights
• Integrate and prepare large datasets for strategic use
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, or related field
• 5 years of relevant experience or a Master’s and 2 years
• Proficiency with SQL, R, Python, or equivalent
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Expertise in analyzing health-related data
