The University of British Columbia (UBC) Okanagan is offering a tenure-stream position for an Assistant Professor focusing on wildfire chemistry within its Department of Chemistry. Successful applicants will conduct transformative research, exploring wildfire emissions, smoke aerosols, and environmental impacts. The role aligns with UBC's strategic priorities surrounding climate resilience, food security, and health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead research on wildfire emissions and smoke contaminants
• Develop environmentally sustainable fire suppression materials




• Analyze contaminants in soil and water related to wildfires
• Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
• Enhance the chemistry curriculum through innovative teaching
Requirements:
• Ph.D. in chemistry or related discipline
• Postdoctoral research experience required
• Strong track record of research productivity
• Exceptional communication and teaching skills
• Eligibility under the Canada Impact+ program
