This full-time, temporary role focuses on helping individuals who are on their recovery journey. You will facilitate daily activities, assist counselors with strategies, and offer supportive listening, all while fostering a protected space for clients. Collaborate with team members to uphold the mission of The Salvation Army, ensuring optimal support and care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized client support and friendly interactions
• Facilitate daily activities and accompany clients to functions
• Assist counselors in developing strategic interventions
• Report client issues or crises to the counselor promptly
• Suggest improvements to enhance center efficiency
Requirements:
• Background as a consumer/survivor in recovery for at least 3 years
• Peer Certification or Training is an asset
• Post-secondary studies in social services is a plus
• Background Check with vulnerable sector screening required
• Computer skills, specifically in MS Office and data collection
