Role Description Public Health Support Intern is a part-time, in office position based in Edmonton, AB. The intern will support the planning and implementation of community health initiatives connected to Arts on the Ave’s programs and festivals, including collecting and analyzing data related to community wellbeing and public engagement. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with public health-focused outreach activities, helping design and distribute educational materials, and supporting events hosted by Arts on the Ave.
Qualifications
Candidate must currently be enrolled in a post-secondary institution
Candidate must be a Canadian citizen
Candidates should possess skills in Public Health and Community Health to support health-focused programming and outreach.
Candidates should possess robust analytical Skills to lead the collection and reporting of community data and feedback.
Candidates should possess effective communication skills, including explicit writing, presenting, and interpersonal communication with diverse stakeholders.
Relevant coursework or training in public health, health promotion, research, or a related field is beneficial.
Experience or interest in community-based work, arts or culture sectors, and non-profit environments is an asset.
Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for community members.
