We are looking for an experienced Press Setup Operator to join our automotive tool & die manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating stamping presses, installing and aligning dies, and ensuring production runs safely and efficiently while meeting customer quality requirements.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate mechanical stamping presses used in automotive manufacturing.
Install, remove, and properly align dies and tooling in the press.
Set press stroke, shut height, tonnage, feed, and other operating parameters as required.
Perform die and press adjustments to achieve proper part quality and production requirements.
Verify first-off parts and make adjustments as required to maintain dimensional and quality specifications.
Monitor production runs for quality, tooling, and equipment issues.
Inspect parts for defects and ensure production meets customer specifications.
Work with Quality and Tool & Die personnel to troubleshoot dimensional and tooling issues.
Perform basic press and die maintenance, including lubrication and routine checks.
Follow production schedules, work instructions, control plans, and quality requirements.
Complete required production and quality documentation.
Safely operate material-handling equipment as authorized.
Maintain a clean, organized, and protected work area.
Follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures and applicable Ontario workplace safety requirements.
Perform other duties related to press operations as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous experience setting up and operating stamping presses in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Experience with automotive stamping dies and tooling.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and basic tolerances.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to identify and correct basic press, die, and production issues.
Ability to use basic measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous tool & die shop experience is an asset.
Job Types: Full time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
