Ophthalmic Technician

We are an Ophthalmology clinic in Red Deer, Alberta, with a vision of providing a centre of excellence in ophthalmic care. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced workplace to join our team. The successful candidate must be efficient, organized, punctual, reliable, and detail oriented. Able to multi-task and adapt to changing conditions, and problem solve. Team player with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

-using an electronic medical record

-working up patients prior to seeing the Ophthalmologist (including taking a visual acuity, intraocular pressure, instilling drops, other tests)

-performing diagnostic testing on patients (including visual field, OCT, biometry, fundus photography, refraction, etc)





-helping with clinic flow

-administrative duties

-calling patients into rooms

-assisting with other various office duties

Qualifications:

Prior experience as an ophthalmic technician is an asset but not required

Excellent computer skills

Proficient typing skills

Completion of Certified Ophthalmic Assistant course is an asset

Experience with Accuro electronic medical record is an asset

Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience

Schedule:

Tuesday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm

Job Types: Part time, Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
