Duties
Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture or capillary puncture techniques with accuracy and care
Verify patient identity and explain procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation
Label specimens correctly and prepare them for laboratory processing according to established protocols
Maintain strict adherence to safety guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control procedures
Document all collection details accurately in patient records and laboratory information systems
Ensure the cleanliness of all phlebotomy equipment and work areas to uphold hygiene standards
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Phlebotomy Technician from an accredited program or equivalent related experience
Proven experience performing blood draws in a clinical or hospital setting is advantageous
Excellent communication skills with the ability to reassure and support patients
Solid attention to detail to ensure specimen integrity and accurate documentation
Knowledge of safety protocols related to blood collection, infection control, and handling biohazard materials
Proof of Certification or licensure
Valid driver's license
