OPTIK K&R; Inc . is a privately held, Canadian corporation that manufactures, imports and distributes eye care products. All product sales are made directly to industry professionals across Canada such as opticians, optometrists, ophthalmologists and M.D.’s.

JOB DESCRIPTION
You will assist the lens SURFACING team on the overnight Shift. Accurate start and end times are adaptable and negotiable. Typical shift is from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
Primarily you will be required to:
Lens deboxing and taping
Lens Blocking
Lens surface generation (single point diamond turning SPDT)
Maintenance and calibration
polishing
Laser marking, de-blocking, spin-coat
clean up and tray transport

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
English communication skills both verbal and written.
mechanical aptitude or experience working with machines
experience with an optical GENERATOR preferred
Ophthalmic (contact lens, eyeglasses, etc.) experience preferred
EDUCATION
High School - Required
Some engineering or Mechanical Maintenance training
