Qualifications
In the pursuit of teaching excellence, Sessional Lecturers are required to be superior classroom teachers and to maintain a mastery of the subject area (Sustainability and Science)
Preferred qualifications are either PhD in relevant discipline completed or for non-University of Toronto graduate students, in progress, or relevant qualification or skilled designation.
We are seeking previous experience in teaching, teaching excellence, and mastery of subject area. Previous experience in teaching SSM1050 in the MScSM program course is highly desirable.
Duties
- Weekly lectures.
- Meeting with student teams to guide/advise them on their assignments.
- Holding weekly office hours.
- Marking/evaluating all student assignments; recording student attendance; recording and submitting grades; and communicating with students on course related matters.
- Building and maintaining Quercus course shell.
- Design course syllabus, content and assignments in close consultation with Program Director.
- Liaise with Program Director regarding course content and curriculum.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
