The Rainbow Lake Lab analyzes plant and field data consisting of gas, NGL, and oil samples. The Operations Lab student is responsible for aiding in the daily running of the on‑site lab. They must be able to work in a fast‑paced and demanding environment. The individual needs to prioritize tasks and strongly understand Oil and Gas Analysis. The successful candidate of this role will be required to live in Rainbow Lake; company housing will beprovided. Additionally, the candidate will work a 4-3 shift. What you’ll do Assist in acquiring plant and field samples for analysis. Maintain laboratory equipment, files, data, procedures, and techniques, and update as necessary. Providing support in Reports, Data Analysis and Information for Engineering and Field Operations Staff. Prioritize and handle high sample volumes and multitask different analyses. Who you are Legally authorized to work in Canada full‑time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.G., work visa). Available to begin work in January 2027 Prioritizes safety while working efficiently. Thrives in a fast‑paced work environment Strong communication and teamwork abilities A strong understanding of Oil and Gas analysis in a lab setting Experienced with Microsoft Office 365 We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
Education Must be enrolled in a Chemical Engineering Technology, Petroleum Engineering Technology, or Laboratory Technology Undergraduate Program at an accredited post‑secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full‑time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post‑secondary co‑op or internship program for the duration of the work term Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post‑secondary institution may also be considered New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities. Working Conditions May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc. Safety Sensitive This may be a safety‑sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the pre‑employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements. Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.E., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver’s abstract, for the preceding 5‑year period, if offered the position. A valid Canadian class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions (i.E., non GDL) is a requirement for this role.
