Join CMHA Peel Dufferin as an Immediate Intervention Specialist, supporting the Black, African, and Caribbean communities through culturally relevant crisis intervention strategies. This full-time role is dedicated to enhancing wellbeing and addressing mental health needs.
As a key member of the Black Health and Social Services Multi-disciplinary Team, you will provide immediate support and assessments at the BHSS Hub. You’ll utilize a stepped-care approach, ensuring individuals receive the necessary interventions and creating plans for ongoing services when needed. Your engagement will directly impact community health and empower clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the first point of contact for community inquiries
• Provide crisis support and assess client needs accurately
• Develop appropriate intervention plans for clients
• Facilitate support groups and ensure effective communication
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members regularly
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in relevant fields
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health sectors
• Solid expertise in community-based human services
• Cultural sensitivity towards Black, African, and Caribbean communities
• Valid Canadian driver's license and car access
