As a vital position within the Minnesota Data Strategy Team, the Chief Data Officer will establish a vision for data usage that enhances government performance. This role integrates strategic leadership with practical solutions, advising senior leaders on complex legal and ethical considerations tied to data sharing. You will be a key figure in guiding initiatives that ensure effective and responsible data governance across multiple agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct the Minnesota Data Strategy Team to implement governance priorities
• Establish strategic direction based on input from senior leadership
• Advise on legal and ethical data sharing considerations
• Serve as the point of escalation for complex legal data issues
• Build a framework for secure and responsible data sharing
Requirements:
• Six years of experience in governance or policy implementation
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Solid leadership in addressing complex organizational changes
• Ability to translate legal information into actionable guidance
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive work practices
