Noramtec Consultants is recruiting on behalf of a Canadian building engineering consulting firm for a Senior Electrical Engineer in its Vancouver office. The successful candidate will lead the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical building systems from concept through construction, provide technical leadership to junior staff, and support client relationships.Responsibilities:
Lead electrical design of building systems, including medium and low voltage power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, communications, and security systemsPrepare engineering calculations, including load and service sizing, voltage drop, short circuit ratings, duct bank and cabling design, and lighting calculationsDevelop design concepts, engineering reports, specifications, and construction drawings using Revit and AutoCADCoordinate multidisciplinary designs with mechanical, structural, architectural, and civil teamsReview drawings, specifications, and calculations prepared by junior engineers and designersPerform site investigations, existing building assessments, and condition reportsCoordinate with utility providers, authorities having jurisdiction, contractors, and equipment vendorsProvide construction administration services, including shop drawing reviews,
RFI responses, site reviews, and commissioning supportManage project schedules, budgets, and deliverablesMentor junior engineers, designers, and EITsSupport business development and proposal preparationQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited universityRegistered Qualified Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)10+ years of progressive experience in electrical consulting engineering on building and infrastructure projectsExperience designing HV substations (indoor and outdoor), generator systems, system grounding, underground distribution systems, duct banks, and power cablingExperience with utility coordination, power system protection and control, fire alarm, and life safety systemsStrong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, BC Building Code, and CSA standardsExperience with commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, or mixed-use projects is an assetLEED AP, WELL AP, or sustainable building design experience is an assetProficiency in Microsoft Office, Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical engineering software
