Department/Unit/Program Description The Operating Room performs elective and emergency surgery on an outpatient and inpatient basis. The multidisciplinary team of surgeons, anesthetists, nurses and support staff work together to ensure a positive experience for the patient.

Ross Memorial Hospital qualifies for the Government of Canada's Student Loan Forgiveness Program. Nurses may be eligible to receive up to $30,000 in Canada Student Loan forgiveness

Position Summary The Operating Room is currently seeking a Permanent Part Time Registered Practical Nurse to join their team.

Effective: October 5, 2026

Essential Qualifications

Operating Room Certificate from an accredited educational facility





Current RPN Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

At least 3 years current Operating Room nursing experience

Knowledge of ORNAC and IPAC standards

Ability to scrub in all areas

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals

Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education

Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision

Computer knowledge and skills

Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands

Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work setting

Ability to function as a team member

Ability to respond to urgent/emergent situations

Must be willing to take call and be available to reach the hospital within 20 minutes

Trained in EPIC - training can be provided, but must pass required testing.

Hours of Work
Must be available to work a variety of eight (8) hour shifts Monday to Sunday, days, evenings, nights, weekends, including statutory holidays and on-call. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
