We are helping our client in Vancouver with a Sr Accountant search. This is a full-time permanent role with perks, a hybrid work model and more.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance analysis.

Manage payroll accounting activities by reconciling payroll-related accounts, analyzing accruals and variances, resolving discrepancies, and supporting Dayforce system improvements.

Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) by comparing standard costs to actual costs, investigating variances, and providing insight into key business drivers.

Perform revenue recognition and unbilled revenue reconciliations, ensuring revenue is recognized accurately and in accordance with accounting policies.

Partner with Project Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Project Managers to support reconciliations, revenue recognition, billing, and month-end activities.

Ensure revenue and expenses are recorded in the appropriate accounting periods by monitoring project activity,



identifying discrepancies, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Contribute to continuous process improvement by identifying automation opportunities, enhancing financial controls, streamlining month-end processes, and improving reporting capabilities.

Requirements

CPA designation (or working toward CPA) is an asset

Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Knowledge of payroll accounting, revenue recognition, accrual accounting, and cost accounting principles.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex accounting issues.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.

Experience with ERP/accounting systems and a mindset focused on continuous improvement and process optimization
