The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing comprehensive testing strategies across complex systems, including functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance, performance, stress, load, accessibility, and non-functional testing.

The candidate will work closely with testing leads, IT leads, developers, business analysts, project managers, and other technical and functional stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities Provide expert advice on testing strategies, test plans, testing tools, resources, and overall QA approaches .

Plan, organize, and implement testing activities for large-scale systems in both GUI and non-GUI environments .

Develop and execute: Functional tests Integration tests System tests Regression tests Acceptance/UAT tests Non-functional tests Performance tests Stress tests Load tests Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, and test strategies .

Execute testing against various system components and validate that applications perform as expected under different conditions.

Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, Azure Dev

Ops, ALM, Bugzilla, Test

Rail, Zephyr, or similar .

Work closely with developers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools/frameworks such as: Selenium Postman Open

Perform API testing and backend validation.

Develop and execute performance test scripts using JMeter, Load

Conduct AODA/accessibility testing and ensure compliance with applicable Ontario accessibility requirements.

Validate data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across systems and databases.

Perform backend/data validation and write queries for testing and data verification.

Support data migration and transformation testing where required.

Develop and manage robust test data strategies , including realistic test data generation, data privacy, and test environment management.

Conduct basic security testing and collaborate with security specialists on more advanced security/penetration testing activities.

Participate in UAT activities and provide support to business and technical stakeholders.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, testing leads, and IT leads to clarify requirements and ensure quality.

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives .

Maintain detailed documentation of testing results, test coverage, defects, quality metrics, and outcomes.

Provide input into user manuals and release notes .

Extensive experience with AODA testing and compliance , including knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and related standards/regulations.
