Make a difference as a Harm Reduction Worker with Lookout Housing and Health Society in Cowichan Valley. This casual position supports individuals with diverse challenges, focusing on harm reduction strategies and practices.
As a Harm Reduction Worker, you'll oversee Lookout’s Harm Reduction Program, working closely with clients facing responsible mental health and substance use issues. You’ll provide crucial support for the Needle Distribution program and educate staff on harm reduction protocols. In addition, you will assist clients in accessing vital resources while ensuring a safe environment through effective teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and educate on harm reduction and needle distribution
• Assist staff in implementing approved harm reduction practices
• Help clients identify and access essential resources
• Maintain accurate manual and computerized records
• Respond to emergencies and support team members
Requirements:
• Certificate in social services or Grade 12 with related experience
• Familiarity with community resources and harm reduction
• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certification
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Minimum two years sobriety if applicable
