CHILD CARE SERVICES COORDINATORThe Sea to Sky School District serves the vibrant communities of Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, and the surrounding areas on the unceded traditional territories of the Swxw7mesh xwumixw and St''at''imc people, including the Lil''wat, N''Quatqua, and Samahquam First Nations.

The Opportunity Reporting to the Director of Instruction, Learning Services, the Child Care Services Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, administration, supervision and operational support of district-operated child care services and child care partnerships operating on school grounds.
The Child Care Services Coordinator works collaboratively with principals, early childhood educators and educational assistants assigned to child care programming, families, community partners, and district departments to support safe, accessible, high-quality child care services throughout the district.
Key Responsibilities Child Care Operations
Coordinate district-operated child care programs and services operating on school grounds
Support the effective day-to-day operation of child care programs
Monitor enrolment, attendance, registrations, waitlists, and program utilization
Respond to operational issues and support program continuity
Assist with the development and implementation of procedures and practices that support high-quality child care services
Other duties as assigned Licensing and Regulatory Compliance
Act as the district lead for child care licensing compliance
Coordinate licensing inspections, documentation, and follow-up requirements
Maintain records and documentation required by licensing authorities and government agencies
Support compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, district policies, and procedures
Monitor regulatory changes and communicate implications to district staff and partners Program Staffing Coordination
Coordinate staffing requirements for district-operated child care programs
Provide support, guidance,
and operational coordination for educational assistants assigned to child care programming
Collaborate with principals, Human Resources, and district staff regarding staffing, onboarding, orientation, and training requirements
Assist with staffing schedules and continuity planning to support program operations
Monitor staffing needs and identify operational concerns related to staffing capacity, licensing requirements, and program continuity
Support operational continuity, including the coordination of staffing coverage and, where necessary, providing direct program support to address staffing absences and maintain licensing requirements and child care operations
Support principals and district leadership in resolving staffing challenges affecting child care operations
Promote compliance with district procedures, licensing requirements, and workplace practices related to child care programming Family and Community Engagement
Serve as a primary district contact for families accessing district-operated child care services
Coordinate family communications, registrations, and program information
Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Foster positive relationships with families, caregivers, and community partners Child Care on School Grounds
Serve as the district liaison with third party licensed child care providers operating on school grounds
Coordinate matters related to child care on School Grounds agreements
Work collaboratively with principals and providers to support the effective operation of child care services
Support the planning, implementation, and operational readiness of new child care sites and services
Coordinate district efforts related to the continued expansion of child care opportunities for children and families Ministry Reporting and Administration
Coordinate Ministry reporting and funding administration
Support budget planning, utilization reporting, and program monitoring
Maintain accurate records and administrative systems related to district child care services
Prepare reports, correspondence, and information as required Qualifications & Experience Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education
Training in the British Columbia''s Early Learning Framework
Minimum three years of progressive experience in licensed child care services, program coordination, or a related field
Experience coordinating programs, services, or operations involving multiple partner groups and Rightsholders
Knowledge of BC child care licensing requirements and funding programs
Experience working collaboratively with schools, families, community agencies, and government partners Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Class 5 Driver''s License
Standard First Aid Certificate
Coordinate multiple priorities and complex operational activities

Interpret and apply legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Salary range: $61,450.00 to $74,037.00 per year.
This is a 10-month position from September 1 to June 30.
