Empower handicapped students as an Attendant with New Frontiers School Board, ensuring their well-being and participation in educational activities. Assist students with mobility, hygiene, and personal needs while fostering a supportive learning workplace.
This role focuses on supporting handicapped students during daily school activities. You will facilitate mobility, ensure safety, and assist with hygiene according to individualized education plans. Working closely with teaching staff, you will promote personal care, manage basic health needs, and support disability-specific accommodations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students in mobility and transitioning locations
• Ensure personal hygiene and safety during activities
• Support meal times and help with snacks
• Monitor and supervise during school breaks and recreation
• Administer medication and manage first aid when necessary
Requirements:
• Diploma of Vocational Studies in patient care or equivalent
• Minimum one year of experience working with children
• Bilingual and strong interpersonal skills
• Training in first aid and crisis management
• Experience with non-verbal students with ASD preferred
