Production Planner Scheduler

An established plastics manufacturer in the Woodbridge area is seeking an experienced Production Planner Scheduler to develop and manage production plans across a high volume manufacturing operation. This role works closely with production, procurement, customer service, logistics, engineering, quality, maintenance, tooling and warehouse teams to balance customer demand with material, labour, tooling and equipment capacity.

What You'll Be Doing

- Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly production schedules based on customer demand and manufacturing capacity.
- Create finite production schedules considering machine capacity, tooling availability, labour, raw materials, changeovers and production priorities.
- Adjust schedules as customer requirements, equipment downtime, material shortages or other production constraints change.
- Monitor schedule adherence and work with plant teams to resolve issues affecting production performance.
- Balance capacity across multiple manufacturing cells, presses and extrusion lines.
- Translate customer forecasts, sales orders and demand requirements into executable production plans.
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure raw materials, packaging and purchased components are available when required.
- Monitor finished goods, work in process and raw material inventory and recommend appropriate production quantities.
- Generate and release production work orders and maintain accurate planning data within the ERP system.




- Participate in production meetings and communicate priorities, capacity constraints and recovery plans.
- Support current product launches, engineering changes, outside processing and production transitions.
- Monitor and report planning and manufacturing performance metrics including schedule attainment, on time delivery, inventory turns, capacity utilization and production throughput.

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of production planning, scheduling or supply chain planning experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
- Plastics manufacturing experience, particularly injection molding and/or extrusion, is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of MRP, master production scheduling, S&OP; and capacity planning principles.
- Experience with manufacturing ERP/MRP systems such as IQMS, SAP or similar systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, production flow, manufacturing constraints and scheduling methods.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment and work effectively across departments.
- CPIM certification or progress toward certification is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and waste reduction is considered an asset.
