Extrusion Operator

Permanent, Full-Time Opportunity

Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting the extrusion production plan while maintaining product quality throughout the process, including material handling, raw material formulation, quality checks and extrusion operations. The successful candidate will also support preventative maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct daily production operations on plastic extrusion lines while maintaining production schedules and workflow.
- Perform job changeovers on extrusion lines and downstream equipment.
- Operate extrusion machinery, including start-ups, shutdowns, adjustments, troubleshooting and process optimization.
- Configure and adjust machine controls and operating parameters to achieve required setup and production performance.
- Maintain proper organization and storage of tools and equipment associated with the production process.
- Perform quality inspections and ensure products meet established standards.
- Monitor production efficiency and target output rates.




- Perform routine machine maintenance and support process improvements that reduce material waste and scrap.
- Work across day, afternoon and night shifts on a rotating schedule as required.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness around extrusion lines and work areas, including removal of purge and routine machine/work-area cleaning.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Post-secondary education or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs during an eight-hour shift.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and stand for the duration of the shift.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Availability to work weekends when required.
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
- Understanding of plastic formulations is an asset.
- Valid forklift licence.
