Production Team Leader

An established plastics manufacturer in the Woodbridge area is seeking a hands-on Production Team Leader to support day-to-day production activities, guide machine operators, and help keep safety, quality and production targets on track. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working on the production floor, solving problems as they arise, and leading by example in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You Will Be Doing

- Provide daily guidance, direction and support to production employees in coordination with Production Supervisors.
- Help coordinate and prioritize labour, materials and equipment to support production schedules.
- Monitor production workflow and communicate material shortages, equipment issues or other production concerns.
- Troubleshoot production issues with other departments to identify root causes, minimize downtime and maintain workflow.
- Ensure operators are meeting product specifications, tolerances and quality requirements.
- Prepare and maintain production cells so required labels, tools, fixtures, materials and equipment are available and ready for use.
- Review work instructions, special instructions and engineering changes with employees.
- Coordinate first-off inspections with Quality to confirm product specifications before production continues.
- Train new and existing machine operators on job duties, work instructions, quality requirements and standard procedures.




- Maintain accurate production records including production counts, downtime, scrap and operator logs.
- Conduct safety checks, identify hazards and support corrective actions.
- Ensure employees use required PPE and follow established safety procedures.
- Provide break relief for machine operators and other production roles when required.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts for finished goods and work-in-process inventory.
- Support supervisors with employee concerns, attendance and performance matters as required.

What We Are Looking For

- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate and support a diverse production team.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of injection molding processes.
- Ability to train employees on production duties, work instructions and quality requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, time-management and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- First Aid certification, or willingness and ability to complete certification.

Working Environment

- Full-time, on-site manufacturing position.
- Production-floor environment requiring regular interaction with operators, supervisors, Quality and other departments.
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
- Employees are expected to follow all applicable health and safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment.
