Job Description
Duties:
Plan, direct and evaluate the day-to-day operations of the liquor store, including sales, inventory, purchasing, merchandising and customer service activities.
Monitor the financial performance of the liquor store, including revenues, operating expenses, profit margins and key performance indicators.
Prepare and monitor operating budgets, authorize expenditures and review sales and expenses to identify opportunities for improved profitability and cost control.
Manage and supervise staff, assign duties, prepare work schedules, monitor performance and ensure adequate staffing levels.
Monitor staffing requirements, employee hours and labour costs to support efficient workforce management.
Monitor market trends, customer preferences and competitor activities to assess consumer demand and identify opportunities to increase sales.
Determine the selection and range of liquor products and other merchandise based on customer demand, sales trends, inventory movement and business requirements.
Establish and implement pricing, discount and sales policies and monitor their effectiveness.
Source and negotiate with suppliers and vendors regarding product pricing, purchasing terms, delivery arrangements and other procurement matters.




Oversee purchasing and inventory activities, monitor product movement and maintain appropriate stock levels while minimizing shortages, excess inventory and losses.
Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to increase sales and attract customers.
Evaluate customer service standards and respond to significant customer inquiries, complaints and concerns.
Address staffing requirements, including recruitment, training, development, performance management and retention.
Oversee operations and make operational decisions relating to purchasing, staffing, pricing, inventory, suppliers, promotions and the overall operation of the liquor store.
Maintain effective relationships with suppliers, customers and employees and resolve operational issues affecting sales, inventory, customer service and profitability.
Monitor pub and kitchen revenues, food and beverage costs, gross margins and labour expenses, and implement measures to maintain appropriate operating margins.
Review menu and food costs, purchasing requirements and inventory levels, and take appropriate measures to control waste, spoilage and operating expenses

Experience: Minimum 2 years of related experience is required.

Skilled, friendly and positive attitude.
Attention to details
Masters degree in business administration, retail management or a related field is an asset.
