Our client is seeking an experienced

Director of Finance

to provide strategic financial leadership across a growing group of operating and holding companies based in

St. John's, NL . Reporting directly to the Owner, this hands‑on leadership role offers the opportunity to play a key part in financial decision-making, business growth, acquisitions, and the continued development of the organization’s accounting and finance functions.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

Oversee the financial management of multiple operating and holding companies

Provide strategic direction and oversight of the accounting and finance functions

Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including variance analysis

Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor financial performance against established objectives

Oversee daily cash flow management and provide regular cash flow projections

Provide financial advice and insights to support business and investment decisions

Support growth strategy across existing and new businesses

Prepare and assist with financial analysis and valuations of potential acquisition targets

Develop and maintain strong relationships with lenders, external auditors, legal counsel, and other qualified advisors

Direct accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

Assess existing financial systems and processes and oversee new system implementations as required

Lead, develop, and retain a capable accounting and finance team

Experience & Attributes for Success:





CPA designation or equivalent combination of education and senior‑level finance experience

Several years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience

Experience overseeing accounting functions across multiple entities or business units

Strong financial analysis and business valuation skills, with experience supporting acquisitions considered an asset

Strong systems aptitude and experience with accounting/ERP system implementations or improvements

Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills

Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands‑on level in a growing organization
