The Defence and Sovereignty Lead will drive applied research and industry collaboration at the Faculty of Engineering. With a focus on securing research funding and building ecosystems, this role serves as a key interface between academia and defence enterprises. You'll work on high-priority projects aimed at enhancing regional economic impact and graduate training through industrial engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Scout and engage defence primes for R&D; opportunities • Generate collaborative research proposals and secure funding • Execute ecosystem-building activities for grant compliance • Market specialized research facilities to industry partners • Align outreach efforts with internal leadership and stakeholders
Requirements: • Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field required • Minimum 5+ years in business development or technical sales • In-depth knowledge of Canadian defence initiatives • Solid negotiation skills with C-level executives • Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally
