Responsibilities
Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and vans, to deliver freight across designated routes
Load and unload cargo using equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of goods
Inspect vehicles regularly for safety, mechanical issues, and compliance with transportation regulations
Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and freight records throughout each shift
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when required, supporting loading and unloading processes
Conduct routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any repairs needed to ensure optimal performance
Requirements
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type being operated
Proven experience in commercial driving, freight handling, or related roles
Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently (certification preferred)
Knowledge of safety standards related to transportation and heavy equipment operation
Basic automotive repair skills or familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures
Solid organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and documentation
