In this role, you’ll help coordinate daily transportation operations in a rapid-paced environment where organization, quick thinking and independence matter.About the roleThe City Dispatcher coordinates daily transportation operations. You’ll plan loads and driver assignments, monitor vehicles and drivers, maintain inventory records at rail sites, and work with internal teams to keep deliveries running smoothly.What we’re looking forAt least 3 years of experience dispatching truck transportationExcellent geographic knowledge of Eastern Canada and the United StatesExperience working in a unionized environmentStrong command ofMicrosoft 365 , curiosity about new technology, andadvanced proficiency with AI toolsFamiliarity with transportation management software such as Magnus, Super Dispatch or MIRAbility to learn new tools quickly, including AnyDesk, Igloohome and mobile tracking systemsStrong organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently, accurately and calmly as priorities changeFluency in French and English, both spoken and written , to communicate with drivers and customersA team-oriented, service-focused approachOccasional availability outside regular hours in case of an emergencyEducation in transportation logistics or a relevant certification is an asset.Your responsibilitiesDispatch and operationsManage operational emails and calls,



confirm drivers’ hours, and follow up as needed.Plan loads and coordinate driver assignments.Maintain tracking lists, yard inventory and returns.Update vehicle locations in the CN system.Work with the Québec terminal to coordinate inventory and deliveries to dealerships farther away.Fleet and equipmentReview the truck list, confirm which units are active, and report any damage or mechanical issues.Manage key baskets and ensure protective equipment is available.Attend garage meetings to stay informed about the fleet’s mechanical condition.Documentation and communicationPrepare and sort documents for other terminals.Send updates about replacement trucks and significant operational issues.Prepare and submit a daily report to management.Perform other related duties.Employment conditionsLocation:Lévis, Québec; on-siteSchedule:Monday to Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; 40 hours per weekSalary:To be discussed based on relevant experienceComprehensive group insurance, including dental coverage3 personal days and 10 paid sick days per yearGroup RRSP and deferred profit-sharing planEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployment equityAt Transport Laberge, we value diversity and are committed to an inclusive, respectful workplace.
