Nanaimo Travellers Lodge Society (NTLS) is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to providing exceptional dementia care and elder services in Nanaimo, BC.

Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and hospitality-focused individuals to create a warm, wselcoming and relationship driven dining experience. This role plays and essential part in enhancing the daily lives of Elders by ensuring an enjoyable meal experience while maintaiing a protected, clean and organized environment.

The ideal candidate brings a heart for service, strong teamwork skills, and a commitment to supporting elders in a home-like setting.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities include but not limited to:
Set tables and prepare dining spaces to create a relaxed, inviting and home-like atmosphere
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the different food textures that may be required by elders
Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained at all times




Ensure kitchen cleanliness through regular cleaning and sanitation while ensuring kitchesn are well stocked and organized
Serve meals with kindness and professionalism
Collaborate with staff to deliver excellent food service
Manage time efficiently to meet meal schedules

Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience in hosptiality, food sevie or senior living (preferred)
Food Safe Certification
Transparent understanding of the different food textures and modified diets
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Willing to be a team player
Compassionate, patient and relationsip-focused approach
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform moderate to heavy physical tasks

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $25.82 per hour
