Volunteering is at the heart of what we do at Let’s Talk Science. Our volunteer community of more than 2,200 volunteers engage and inspire children and youth across Canada by sharing their passion for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
As a volunteer, you will develop leadership, communication and teaching skills that will set you apart from other candidates when applying for jobs – all while making a difference in the lives of children and youth in Canada.
We set you up for success by providing training, activity kits, funding and materials through your local coordinator. We offer self-paced and live opportunities to grow your skills including career exploration, activity development, and inclusive outreach.
Our volunteers are:
Passionate about engaging kids in STEM learning
Committed to enhancing and building skills in science, education and communication
Positive role models
Looking to connect with the community
The Let's Talk Science Outreach program connects post-secondary and qualified volunteers with educators and community programs to lead children and youth through interactive STEM activities in the classroom or at special events. We work with local teams to offer regionally-responsive opportunities across the country. Expected hours: 1.0 – 5.0 per week
