About the Role Our client, a leading sports data and analytics firm operating out of Kimberley , is looking for a highly analytical and insightful Sports Analyst . This role is critical in gathering, interpreting, and presenting complex data to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decisions for sports teams, leagues, and media partners. You will work with cutting-edge tools and methodologies to uncover trends, evaluate player performance, and optimize game strategies. This is a remote-first position offering the chance to impact sports performance through data-driven expertise, serving clients across the Northern Cape and internationally.
Key Responsibilities Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to player performance, team statistics, and game outcomes.
Develop predictive models and statistical measures to assess player potential and game strategies.
Create compelling visualizations and reports to communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate with coaches, scouts, and management teams to provide data-informed recommendations.
Stay abreast of advancements in sports analytics, data science,
and relevant technologies.
Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress towards strategic objectives.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Sports Science, or a related quantitative field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in sports analytics or a similar data analysis role.
Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and database querying (SQL).
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data effectively.
