Job Title: CNC Sheet Metal Programmer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented CNC Sheet Metal Programmer to support sheet metal manufacturing operations. In this role, you create, maintain, and validate programs for laser cutting, punching, and press brake equipment using the AMADA VPSS software suite. You help ensure efficient production flow, optimal machine utilization, and high-quality finished products by translating design requirements into accurate and manufacturable machine programs.

Responsibilities

- Program sheet metal components using VPSS Blank for laser cutting and punching machines.
- Create and optimize bending programs using VPSS Bend for press brake operations.
- Ensure all programs align with the established tooling library, machine capabilities, and production requirements.
- Verify program accuracy and manufacturability prior to releasing programs to production.
- Conduct program testing and troubleshooting to validate functionality and dimensional accuracy.
- Collaborate with production staff to support machine setup requirements and resolve programming-related issues.
- Contribute to efficient machine operation by optimizing cutting paths, punching sequences, and bending processes.
- Maintain organized program files and documentation to support repeat production and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

- Experience programming sheet metal manufacturing equipment, preferably laser cutters, punch presses, and press brakes.
- Proficiency or strong familiarity with AMADA VPSS Blank software for laser cutting and punching programs.
- Proficiency or strong familiarity with AMADA VPSS Bend software for press brake bending programs.
- Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, punching, and bending.
- Knowledge of tooling selection, tooling libraries, and machine setup requirements for sheet metal operations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical information related to sheet metal components and manufacturing requirements.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when creating and validating CNC programs.
- Ability to troubleshoot program-related issues and adjust parameters to improve manufacturability and performance.

- Experience in production or general labor within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with machine operation, particularly press brakes and other sheet metal equipment.
- Experience with AMADA machinery and related manufacturing systems.
- Ability to support machine setup and changeovers to align with programmed operations.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced production setting with shifting priorities.
- Robust problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to optimizing processes.

Work Environment

You work in a sheet metal manufacturing environment and collaborate closely with the sheet metal team. The role involves programming for laser cutting, punching, and press brake operations using AMADA VPSS Blank and VPSS Bend software, supporting machine operators and setup activities on the shop floor. Personal protective equipment is provided, including safety‑toe work boots, gloves, waist support, wrist straps, ear plugs, and eye protection as desired, with a boot allowance of $100 available once in a permanent role. The facility is transit accessible, with bus service (such as route 116) available. The standard shift runs Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering a stable daytime schedule in an industrial production setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
