Project Description:

Support business, functional and technical leads within DND/CAF, lead and facilitate workshops to gather/affirm, analyze, and validate sites, processes, workflows and any other web applications that are required D365 SPO environment. The resources will document the requirements for the set-up, configuration and use of within the D365 SPO environment (e.g. Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive, Power Automate), custom and 3rd party applications.

Must haves:

Developing SharePoint Online applications and services

Developing reports and dashboard using SharePoint Online services.

Administrating SharePoint Online services, within an organization of 500+ users.

SharePoint Onlineservices governance and information management practices.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop scalable SharePoint Online architectures that support business, information management (IM), and operational requirements, including site structures, hub models, metadata frameworks, and integrated content strategies.

Provide expert technical advice, impact assessments, and implementation recommendations to SharePoint Tenant Administrators and governance bodies, supporting informed decision-making while respecting tenant authority boundaries.

Define and implement coherent site hierarchies, hub associations, navigation models, content types, taxonomy, metadata schemas, and permissions structures to ensure usability, scalability, and maintainability.

Establish and maintain governance standards including naming conventions, provisioning models, lifecycle management, and usage guidelines, ensuring alignment with DND/CAF IM, security, and compliance requirements.

Engage stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate operational and business needs into fit-for-purpose SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 technical solutions.

Configure and build SharePoint components (sites, libraries, lists, pages), and develop integrated Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) to automate processes and enhance functionality

Plan and support migration of content from legacy systems and file repositories, while ensuring alignment with retention policies, disposition schedules, and enterprise records management frameworks

Design and recommend scalable access control models using Azure AD and SharePoint groups,



enforce least privilege principles, and identify and mitigate risks related to security, governance, and operations.

Maintain and improve SharePoint solutions through troubleshooting, performance tuning, search optimization, scripting (PowerShell/PnP/Graph), reporting, and continuous monitoring of usage and compliance.

Conduct testing and user acceptance activities, develop documentation and training materials, support change management, monitor Microsoft 365 roadmap impacts, and drive ongoing improvements to usability, governance, and system performance.

Provide operational sustainment, documentation, and knowledge transfer services, and shall ensure ongoing compliance with DND/CAF security, information management, privacy, and governance requirements;

Mentor non-developers by conducting code reviews, offering technical guidance, and facilitating skill development through pair programming or training sessions; and

Collaborate closely with business analysts, QA teams, and project stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and deliver high-quality products on time and within scope
