About the Role Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Process Design Engineer to lead the conceptual and detailed design of chemical processes for various projects, based in or supporting operations near Kimberley. This role requires extensive experience in process design, P&ID; development, equipment specification, and process simulation. You will be instrumental in translating project requirements into robust, safe, and economically viable process solutions. The ideal candidate is a seasoned skilled with strong technical leadership capabilities and a passion for innovative design. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs;).
Perform process simulations and calculations for mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, and performance.
Specify major process equipment such as reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers, and pumps.
Ensure designs comply with safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
Review and approve design documents, calculations,



and vendor proposals.
Provide technical support during project execution, construction, and commissioning phases.
Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
10+ years of experience in process design engineering, with a significant portion in industrial chemical projects.
Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
In-depth knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a systematic approach to design challenges.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of mentoring junior engineers in Kimberley.
