Teach dance to students in grades 8-12 with the Outside Looking In program at Kettle and Stony Point. Collaborate and share Indigenous perspectives in this engaging role from October to May.
The Lambton Kent District School Board is seeking a temporary Outside Looking In Dance Teacher. You will deliver dance sessions each week while collaborating with Kettle and Stony Point staff. Your involvement will also include teaching modules reflective of First Nations culture while adhering to the curriculum developed by Outside Looking In. Join us in nurturing artistic expressions among Indigenous students and celebrating their heritage through dance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate after-school dance sessions from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Lead practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays during non-session weeks
• Evaluate and deliver curriculum-aligned written activities
• Ensure inclusive participation among diverse student backgrounds
• Collaborate closely with Outside Looking In and school staff
Requirements:
• Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification
• Teaching experience in dance, preferred
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions
• Experience with Indigenous students is an asset
• Commitment to fostering an equitable learning workplace
