Red Rock Ophthalmology is looking for a full time Certified Orthoptist to join our team. We are seeking an energetic, positive, reliable, team player to assist in patient care. The successful applicant will be working with children and adult patients performing both pre-screening vision assessments and follow-up examinations. This role is responsible for ensuring that a high level of patient care is maintained.

Responsibilities:
Patient work-ups: full medical history, vision and ocular alignment testing, pupil assessment, lensometry, refractometry, stereo and colour vision, auto-refraction, and administering ophthalmic drops as required
Accurately document all patient clinical findings and communications in electronic medical records ahead of clinic visit
Update physician and document any parent/patient concerns
Counsel patients on ophthalmic conditions and treatments
Aid in new referral triaging
Schedule patient appointments with EMR system according to guidelines
Perform as needed: HVF, OCT, IOL Master, Tonopen, icare, AT, PAM, BAT, pachymetry




Perform other tasks within the scope of assisting the ophthalmologist with the patient evaluation and management of a patient
Maintain and clean equipment and exam rooms used throughout the day
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Diploma from accredited Orthoptic Training Program and current certification or eligibility for certification
1 year experience an asset
Ability to work efficiently with children of all ages
Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records

Pay rate commensurate with skill set and experience.
